About Us
Twizel Community Care Trust
The Twizel Community Care Trust, formally known as Twizel Adhoc Welfare Trust, was granted incorporation status on 20 March 1992. A name change to the Twizel Community Care Trust was approved on 16 November 1999.
The Trust is currently made up of 7 board members, a full time Office Manager, a part time Coordinator and a casual Coordinator. The Twizel Community Care Centre is a ‘community hub’ and is situated adjacent to the Twizel Marketplace, by the Twizel Area School and Early Learning Centre.
The purpose of the Trust, as set out in the Charitable Trust Deed is to coordinate responses and provide assistance with community health and welfare needs. The Twizel Community Care Trust is dedicated to ensure access to health and welfare agencies for the people of the Twizel community.
As a current Heartlands site, we are contracted by Ministry of Social Development to deliver support within the rural and isolated setting of Twizel by connecting clients to services based on their needs. We offer assistance, support and information as well as ensuring people are directed to the appropriate support network or agency their needs require.
We strive to ensure that our connections with people are positive and inclusive and we actively seek support and collaboration with other organisations and community groups.
